If ever there was a sweet chicken with an inquisitive personality, it would be Victoria - she loved to be carried under your arm, and she was always the first one to greet you when it was feeding time. Its amazing how even a chicken can bond with you - she fed us for many years (she was an excellent egg producer - I estimate she laid over 1,000 eggs in her lifetime), and was a lot of fun, I guess as much fun as a chicken can be. We have good news today. Penelope and Harriet have gone into heat, and as you can see they are excited to be wearing their most fashionable diapers! The girls have appointments next week with the fertility doctor at the Easton Veterinary Hospital Center for pre-conception testing, progesterone levels, and Brucellosis Antibody tests. We are looking forward to seeing Dr. Callahan again, she is the best! We will keep updating as things progress.
